Your home away from home is located in Irish Beach. Irish Beach is 4 miles north of a small town called Manchester on the coastal route of Highway 1 and only 45 minutes south of the artist community of Mendocino. Irish Beach was originally a sheep ranch purchased in the early 1960s a lumberman from Ukiah, CA. His ambition was to establish a second home development on the coast, reminiscent of his early life enjoyment of the Oregon Coast at Gearheart and Cannon Beach.
Over the years, Irish Beach has become not only a second home to many eager to leave the pressured environments of more urban areas, but also the permanent residence for many families who love to be by the ocean, mountains, open meadows and forest.
Homes in Irish Beach have access to a gated private beach, 3 miles long.
Irish Beach is in Manchester. It is located in an area full of rich grazing lands, flocks of sheep, and herds of cattle, wild deer, foxes, bobcats and many local and migrating birds which add a pastoral and wilderness note to some of the most spectacular coastal scenery in the world.
The works of man are definitely secondary to the pounding surf, screeching gulls, and grazing animals that dominate the scene. Manchester includes a Post Office, an Elementary School, the Manchester Grange and a multi-use store with groceries, general merchandise. You may find yourself visiting this store once, twice or many times as it only takes 10 minutes to get there.
A county road north of Manchester leads past Manchester KOA Kampground to Manchester State Beach.
